January 2004

Taken from the NIV Bible

ISAIAH 42:8-9   "I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols. See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you."

ISAIAH 42:10,13   Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them. The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.

ISAIAH 65:17-18   "Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. But be glad and rejoice for ever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy."

ISAIAH 66:22-23   "As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me," declares the Lord, "so will your name and descendants endure. From one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all people will come and bow down before me," says the Lord.

REVELATION 21:5   He who was seated on the throne said," I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write these things down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

JOHN 6:35,51,53   Then Jesus answered, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. I am the living bread that comes down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I give for the life of the world. I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day."

JOHN 7:16   Jesus answered, " My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me. Anyone who does the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own."

JOHN 6:66,67,68,69   From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. "You do not want to leave me too, do you?" Jesus asked the twelve. Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God."

JOHN 6:37   On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice , "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink..."

John 10:11,14,17,18,19   I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me- just as the Father knows me and I know the Father - and I lay done my life for the sheep. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life- only to take it up again. No one takes it from me but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.

Isaiah 53:3   He was despised and rejected by others, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom people hide their faces, he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Isaiah 53:4-6   Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted; But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

John 15:13   Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.

Psalm 12:6 tells us the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times. The Living Word, Jesus Himself, appointed scribes that we might continue to receive His words, for they are Spirit and they are life. Hear Him as He speaks today.
