Many today are asking, “What in the world is going on?” Everywhere we look we see the explicit signs our Lord gave us to look for, which would precede His return. The four horses of the apocalypse are galloping across the planet, bringing a flood of death and destruction.

Governments crumbling, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados, fires, drug cartels and on and on!

We look at God’s time clock and it seems to be nearing the midnight hour. Are we watching and waiting for His return?

There is a graphic picture of the nations, especially ours, given in Luke 21:25. The Amplified Bible states: And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress (trouble and anguish) of nations in bewilderment and perplexity (that is, without resources, left wanting, embarrassed, in doubt, not knowing which way to turn at (the echo) the roaring of the tossing of the sea. This nation is in that position finding herself without resources, because she has spurned the laws of God. God is calling us to repentance, lest we fall headlong into despair and bankruptcy.

The Apostle John, while on the isle of Patmos, heard a voice from what seemed to be from the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius (a whole days wages) and three quarts of barley for a denarius; but do not harm the oil and the wine!” This is not pertaining to the crude oil the world is fighting over, but has to do with food stuffs, which Revelation 18 addresses, as John views the commerce, politics and religion during the tribulation. So, while we watch, the food prices soar and famine covers many lands and people. Is the rider of the black horse, knocking at our door?

No matter what lies ahead we know that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

May He find us watching and waiting!
