Seven-Year Tribute
To The Lord Who Birthed
The God's Word to Women Website

 "Despise Not the Small Things"
by Gay Anderson

Who would believe our report, and who would believe what God has done these past seven years? As we have represented Him through this website, we’ve been made very aware that we are never to despise the small things, especially those things wrought by God!

On the site under “Who We Are,” we have stated that we are only a tiny part of this present move of God, but our prayer has been to be found faithful to the call He has given. God has given grace, power and strength to press on in proclaiming truth to the whole body of Christ. More specifically, the call upon us is to encourage women to come into the fullness of all God has destined for them.

Answering the call of God is truly a rich and rewarding walk, and He proves Himself over and over againconfirming that He is at work in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. His good pleasure is to make Himself  known through His Son and to bring whosoever will to His side and into His kingdom of love.

Several  years ago, some words from  Revelation 14:6, were quickened to me:   “And I saw another angel flying in midair, with an eternal gospel to tell to all the inhabitants of the earth, to every race and tribe and language and people.” Nowwe know that angels are messengers, and it gives us joy to see God use our website as one of those angels as we send out the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over the world.

People love connections, don’t they? Well, God is a connector and has connected us to many through His Spirit, making miles of separation irrelevant.  Emails from across the world reach us, and we respond to each of them. The friendships developed over these years is priceless.  We, as believers, are all one body, connected as He joins us together.

What a small beginning, yet our Lord has given depth, breadth and height. In majesty and splendor, He has been for us a place of broad rivers and streams where no oar-propelled boat can go, nor mighty and stately ship can pass, as the prophet Isaiah spoke.

God’s love is shed abroad in our hearts, making His appeal known through us. We are witnessing the healing power of God as He sets women and men free from the traditional teachings responsible for holding His messengers in bondage.

God’s Word to Women rejoices not only that women are finding their place of ministry in the Body of Christ but also many men have come to the front in agreement with God’s Word and what He says about women in ministry. The fulfillment of Psalm 68:11 is before us:   "The Lord gives the word [of power]; the women who bear and publish  [the news] are a great host. "  (Amplified)

To God be the glory, great things He has done!

We want to call your attention to some outstanding new articles that have recently been put up on the website.  You can always find the latest by clicking on What’s New found at the top of each page.

Heaven on Earth by Katharine Bushnell.  Katharine Bushnell desired to write a book to her nieces and nephews about the end-times, and write it she did.  Heaven on Earth is her commentary on the book of Revelation.   Bushnell states: “I am not so eager to win all to my interpretation of each particular point as to create an interest in the earnest study of the book.  The book is available because Doris McCray went to the Lexington Theological Seminary and copied this rare document which we proudly put up for all to see.

The Lord's Tsunami by Barbara Wentroble.  A tsunami takes place because of a shift in the plates of the earth.  That natural shift represents a spiritual shift that is releasing men and women to work together in a full and equal partnership.  This article also shows how the church has been influenced by Greek philosophy rather than scripture when it comes to its traditions on the place of women.

The Doctrine of the Trinity and Subordination by Kevin N. Giles.  The doctrine of subordination within the Trinity has been used to promote the subordination of women in the church.  This excellent article discusses the various positions and concludes that there is no subordination in the Godhead.  For those who are seriously seeking to understand both the doctrine of the trinity and how it relates to women, this essay is a must-read.

Sticks and Stones- by Dr. Jay Grady.  Dr. Jay gives an opportunity to respond to a question on the statement, "Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me."

Ezer Kenegdo by Awen Dawn.  We have had an explanation of the "helpmate" or "helpmeet" up in the Word Study section of the website, but this additional information is on the origin of the word and its usage.

"HEAVEN ON EARTH"

by Barbara Collins

Heaven on Earth?  Is it possible?  Sure.  If you’re a Christian, you carry as much of Heaven in you as you will allow.  Jesus Christ in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1). You mean He was one with the Father?  Yes!  The Lord wanted you to understand and see Him, so He sent His Son who is Emmanuel, God with us!  The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.  (John 1:14).  Jesus said to Philip that if he had seen Him, he had seen the Father.

Katharine Bushnell desired to write a book to her nieces and nephews about the end-times, and write it she did.  In the introduction, “Aunt Kate” quoted Revelation 1:3—Blessed is he that reads, and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep {treasure up} those things which are written in it.  Then, she added:  “It is the only part of the Bible which claims to produce language which has been precisely dictated by the Lord Jesus.  Three times over, the Lord testifies personally to its truth, accuracy and authority (Revelation 22:16, 18, 20).”

What’s going to happen before Jesus returns?  The Book of the Revelation tells us.  To attempt to diminish this last book of the Bible to signs and symbols is absolute folly.  Bushnell states:  “I am not so eager to win all to my interpretation of each particular point as to create an interest in the earnest study of the book.  Also, I desire to convince my readers that the literal interpretation, except where symbols are plainly indicated, is the only useful and legitimate construction that the book will bear.  Above all, I want to create an interest and faith in the Lord’s second coming.”

Shall we take her up on her aspiration to challenge us to study this book of "The Revelation"?  Will we allow her to stir up our interest in His second coming?  Your answers to the above two questions will determine the effectiveness of Aunt Kate’s book.  Because it’s 250 pages long, you’ll want to take small bites and thoroughly “chew” them before your spirit ingests this food.  Have a banquet while you’re at it!

Note:  Here’s a great big “thank you” to Doris McCray of Lexington, Kentucky who went to the Lexington Theological Seminary and copied this rare document which we proudly put up on the world-wide web for all to see.

"God’s Timing on the Release of Women"

by Pat Joyce

When the God’s Word to Women website was launched in 1998, few Christian voices were supporting an egalitarian view of womanhood.  God called the three of us separately then brought us together to fulfill its purposes without the help of a church or denomination. Much scholarship had been already been done.  The proof was clearly stated in God’s word and explained in a myriad of excellent books.  However, the books were not on the Christian bookstore shelves, and most seminaries did not teach on the freedom of Biblical womanhood, but its limitations.  Ours was definitely an out-of-step position, but God was moving.

Today, many others are taking up the call.  With great joy, Barbara and I attended the “Apostolic Women Arising” Conference in Dallas last month sponsored by Barbara Wentroble’s International Breakthrough Ministries, which brought together Naomi Dowdy from Singapore, Barbara Yoder from Michigan, Indri Gautama from Jakarta, Indonesia and J. Lee Grady, editor of Charisma magazine.  These women oversee international ministries that have never been limited to an audience made up primarily of women.

The speakers shared how God prompted them to take on the “women’s issue.”  He called the Barbaras and Naomi to repent of their opinion of women’s conferences and to agree to do some, bringing meat rather than milk.  In their presentations Barbara Yoder said, “You’re not just a woman, but a seed of destiny" whereas Barbara Wentroble reminded us, “Religious systems will try to hold you in an old place.” Naomi Dowdy reminded us how much we need God's kind of leaders and that leadership is all about stepping into our destiny.  Indri gave us a song entitled, "Divine Mandate," which became a theme song for the conference.  Lee Grady shared that he had asked a prominent woman minister to defend women by taking on the few scriptures that limit them.  She refused to defend herself or other women since God had obviously given her an anointing to set people free.  Then, God spoke to him saying, “Why don’t you defend them?”  That call persisted, and now he’s committed to its fulfillment.  Watch for “The Mordecai Project” which will be announced soon with a corresponding website.

The speakers declared that “God has issued a new call for women to step out of the mundane and familiar and be empowered with His anointing to fulfill the apostolic mandate He has for them.  This new season calls upon women to arise in their end-time authority and power and to break old mindsets, thus enabling a stronger working partnership with men to reach the harvest!”

I went fully expecting to disagree on some points, specifically “covering” and “hierarchy.”  I repent.  The messages on these subjects were right on, and the teaching was terrific! Future conferences are planned in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in October 5-8 and Perth Australia, October 12-15.  We highly recommend that you attend both the mentoring sessions, which are held prior to the main conference, and the conference itself.  (For tapes and CD’s click here)  Next year, the conference will return to Dallas in June and will be held in Kirkland, Washington the following week.  Plan now to meet us in Dallas, June 14-17, 2006.  Other locations are under consideration.  Watch our website for dates of these and other conferences.

The persons mentioned are only a few of those taking up the banner.  The word of women arising is being heard across the world--India, along with Nepal and Pakistan, Australia, England and many African nations.  People from across the globe contact our website and tell us of the favor God has given when a stand is taken for women, even though it sometimes includes persecution.

God laid the groundwork.  It's His time.  He is now calling the body of Christ, men as well as women, to take up the Great Commission and proclaim the gospel in its entirety with no limits based on gender.

God's Provision

We were blessed to meet Germaine Copeland, President of Word Ministries, Inc. at the Apostolic Women Arising Conference in Dallas.  She and her team have agreed to join our other three intercessors in praying for the God's Word to Women website and the ministry that flows from it.  We are grateful to her and to the Lord for this additional prayer support as the ministry stays in the battle for the release of women worldwide from the hand of the principalities and powers that stand against them.

Barbara was asked to share about the reprinting of God's Word to Women and the website ministry at the AWA Conference.  Although we had a case with us, the books were gone before we could get all the way into the hotel.  If you’d like one, click here for an order form.
